Matt DePalma has devoted his entire career to the field of financial services. A Florida resident for more than 44 years, his local market familiarity is joined by extensive experience doing what he loves. As Managing Partner, Matt is responsible for directing Capstan’s long term strategic plan and the execution of the strategies necessary to achieve the practice’s mission, vision and values.
In addition, Matt oversees Capstan’s business expansion opportunities, recruitment and hiring practices as well as the mentoring and professional development of our existing team members. He ensures that his leadership brings positive impact to the client experience, morale, administration, growth and integration of the practice as well as represents Capstan at key community events, industry conferences and practice functions.
His broad investment planning knowledge got its roots more than 27 years ago with Barnett Bank and saw him develop into one of the most accomplished investment professionals in the organization. Prior to forming Capstan, he most recently worked in Sarasota with Banc of America Investment Services, Inc. where he was again recognized for outstanding service to his client base. Matt’s passion is helping people with their finances which he’s done for more than two decades. He represents Capstan as a founding member of the Gulf Coast CEO Forum. Matt holds the Series 24, Series 7, Series 63, Series 65 registrations, and Life, Health and Variable Annuity licenses.
He currently resides in Sarasota with his wife Tia and two children, Shane and Matthew.

Carrie has spent over three decades within the financial services community. First with Boatmen's Bank in St. Louis, followed by Paine Webber/UBS, then Banc of America Investment Services and as a founding partner of Capstan, Carrie has consistently demonstrated her ability to deliver for her clients with persistent effort and diligent planning with a client-centered focus.
As a member of the Capstan Leadership Committee, Carrie develops and implements the practice's long-term strategic plan. Her day-to-day activities revolve around her responsibility for guiding Capstan's portfolio selection process through asset allocation, investment manager selection, technical and tactical analysis in addition to application of investment policies.
Carrie holds the Series 7, Series 63, Series 65 registrations and Life, Health, Long - Term care and Annuity licenses in addition to holding the Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor (CRPC®) and Accredited Domestic Partnership AdvisorSM (ADPA®) designations from the College of Financial Planning. She is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis with a Bachelor of Science in Finance degree. Carrie previously sat on the IMG Foundation Board of Directors, the Executive Board of Directors for ALSO, a local non-for-profit charity aiding youth in LGBTQ community and completed the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce Leadership program in years past. Carrie joined the Sarasota community from St. Louis, MO 19+ years ago to enjoy warmer weather and has built a home for she and her husband, step-daughters and rescued greyhounds, for which she has an immense passion.

Edwards in 1992, he has brought extensive experience to each client interaction and has created a new paradigm of personal service and attention to detail for his clients, his team and his community. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Harry dedicates his time and passion to helping clients plan for and strive to achieve, better outcomes in their financial lives. In addition to his leadership, he brings to Capstan his comprehensive knowledge in wealth management and investment planning as well as tax and estate planning strategies. This holistic approach to advising clients has earned him a selection as a Five star wealth manager for the last 8 years (2016-2023).
Giving back is a way of life for Harry. Over his 50 years of living on the Suncoast, he has served Little League Baseball in many capacities, The Elks Club and as Past President of Kiwanis. After being born on a Naval Base in Rhode Island, Harry cherishes all the outdoor activities that Southwest Florida can provide. He often can be found golfing, boating and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Florida, Nick started his career as a Financial Advisor with Smith Barney in Venice Florida. While focusing on quality advice and client service, Nick’s entrepreneurial spirit took hold and in 2011, he created the Magero Financial Strategies Group at Wells Fargo Advisors to further customize clients’ experiences with his team. During his time there, Nick obtained the designation of PIM® Portfolio Manager. Away from the office, Nick enjoys spending his free time with his wife Stephanie and their cat Millie. An avid college football fan, he is a lifetime member of the UF Alumni Association. Go Gators! Kerry’s experience spans more than fifteen years and two continents. Initially with Ibbotson Associates which was purchased by Morningstar, she started her career in Chicago Illinois as an analyst. She quickly used her experience to secure an investment and analytics positions at Dimensional Fund Advisors followed by SunAmerica in Los Angeles. Most recently, Kerry was part of Harbourmaster Capital Management, now Blackstone, in Dublin, Ireland, where she was a member of the firm's investment committee and was responsible for institutional investments in over 25 companies.
Kerry has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation. For this designation, Kerry had to complete approved educational programs, pass rigorous examinations and meet stringent experience requirements. This helped enable her to be an essential part of the portfolio management team at Capstan. Her focus is on investment research in addition to refining asset allocation and investment policies. She works hand in hand with our institutional investment resources and tirelessly brings their dynamics to each client’s portfolio construction process.
Kerry graduated with a Master of Business Administration Degree from University College Dublin, Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School in Dublin, Ireland, and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Kerry is a dual US/Irish citizen who enjoys yoga and volunteering when she's not spending time with her husband John and twin boys.

Gala began her financial services career in 2008 as a Sales and Service Specialist with Bank of America. She was responsible for providing excellent client service and leading efforts for client retention within the branch network. At Capstan she spearheads the client-first mentality and oversees administrative responsibilities within the organization. As the Director of Marketing, Gala coordinates and prepares all marketing programs within the practice. In addition, as a licensed insurance professional, Gala also manages the Annuity, Life Insurance and Long Term Care Insurance processing at Capstan.
Gala moved to the United States in 2001 from Moscow, Russia. She enjoys reading, traveling and spending quality time with her family and friends. She resides in Sarasota and happy to call sunny Florida her home.

With over 19 years of Financial Services industry experience she has thrived through the changes and challenges of such a complex business. Even while volunteering at her local church, she shares her extensive knowledge by assisting with the budget committee, recording donations, coordinating payments and arranging special activities.
Born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, she often assists clients by sharing her knowledge of being bilingual in both English and Spanish. After spending 29 years in the Brooklyn New York area, Glenda now calls North Port home for nearly 20 years. There she enjoys spending time with her husband and three daughters.
